Argelès-sur-Mer is the pride and joy of the region Pyrénées-Orientales. Boasting as having the longest sandy beach in the region and having the mixture of the Catalan and Occitan culture. It is also one of the largest wine growing regions in France. There are a number of places to explore from mountains to sea with a number of villages to choose from to discover. Close by Argelès-sur-Mer , a few minutes train ride away is Collioure, known for its history and artists. The city of Perpignan for shopping and superb restaurants . Cadaques Spain a little further along the coast to see the famous Salvador Dali museum and his former home. The lovely beach cottages of Racou with it's refreshing mountain trails too!
